Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom. The capital, Belfast, is famous for being the home port of the Titanic. Among the most famous sights are the Dark Hedges, featured in Game of Thrones, and the Giant’s Causeway. Northern Ireland is also known for its Norman castles, glacier-carved valleys and mountains, and Celtic and Christian monuments.

Northern Ireland has a temperate maritime climate influenced by the Gulf Stream. Despite its northern location, winters are relatively mild and wet, while summers are slightly cooler than other regions at this latitude. The warmest months are June, July and August.

Sterling is the official currency in Northern Ireland. ATMs are widely available and you can withdraw money using your debit or credit card. Credit cards are also accepted in many places, especially in tourist areas. However, it is always advisable to carry some cash.
