Angkor Wat

Cambodia

Travelling through Cambodia, you can feel the deep heartbeat of a country that lives between history and the present. The sunrise over Angkor Wat, the smiles of the people in the villages by Tonle Sap Lake or the pulsating energy of Phnom Penh – Cambodia is diverse and inspiring. It is a country for explorers who want more than just sightseeing: Authentic encounters, moving stories and nature that never ceases to amaze.

The best time to visit is between November and March, when the weather is dry and comfortably warm. Ideal for exploring the temples around Siem Reap or enjoying the relaxed island atmosphere in the south. The rainy season (May to October) brings lush greenery and fewer tourists, but can lead to spontaneous changes in plans.

The local currency is the Cambodian Riel (KHR) – but the US dollar is pften accepted, especially for accommodation, transport and tourist services. ATMs are easy to find in the cities and usually dispense dollars. You should have riel in your pocket for small purchases, as change is usually given in the local currency.
