Gardens by the Bay

Singapore

Singapore is no larger than the average city, yet it is full of contrasts. It combines street food markets and luxury hotels, glossy facades and centuries-old temples, and tropical nature with perfected urbanity. You can switch from the futuristic cityscape of Marina Bay to the narrow alleyways of Chinatown or the colourful facades of Kampong Glam in just a few minutes. This compact city-state is full to the brim with things to see and do.

The most pleasant time to visit is between February and April, when the humidity is slightly lower and there is less rain. Temperatures are around 30 °C all year round and the climate is tropical and humid, so remember to pack light clothing.

Cashless payments are used almost everywhere in Singapore. Credit cards such as Visa and Mastercard, as well as mobile payment methods, are common. The local currency is the Singapore dollar (SGD). ATMs are widespread and can generally be used with international cards too.
