However, if you want to surf in Portugal, we advise you to come in autumn, from September onwards. The beaches are less crowded, the waves are very good and it is still pleasantly warm. In winter, Portugal has beautiful Christmas decorations and Christmas markets.
In Portugal, you should be able to pay with your credit or debit card without any problems. As with many other destinations in Europe, it is advisable to have some cash on you. There are also plenty of ATMs where you can easily withdraw money.
