Cap de Formentor

Your first thought when you think about Mallorca? Probably Palma or Ballermann, right? This is absolutely not wrong, but if you visit Mallorca, you should definitely make a few trips to other parts of the island. Besides the town of Valdemossa, Cap de Formentor is one of our highlights!

Already a glance from the plane is enough to catch a first glimpse of the northeastern end of the Balearic island. Not only the lighthouse belongs to the cape, but also the extraordinary way that leads through a beautiful mountain landscape with views of the rocky coast.

Even if one cannot enter the lighthouse at Cap de Formentor as a visitor, one can walk through its surroundings and look down the cliffs. Thus, you shouldn’t forget your camera in any case, as no matter at which time of the day, the view is breathtaking. Already the way, an 18 kilometre long cul-de-sac from Port de Pollença over the peninsula Formentor up to the cape itself, features several observation platforms and places where you should stop in any case and take some photos.
