New Zealand – great metropolises, ancient kauri trails, surf spots, geysers and adventurous hikes! As the birthplace of the famous bungee jumping, the country is one of the places of the Extremes. You can also visit the world-famous film set Hobbiton on the North Island! Besides amazing national parks and hiking trails, New Zealand has a proud history and an amazing Māori culture. The country is also home to sea lions, fireflies, keas, albatrosses and probably the sweetest birds in the world: kiwis. Whales can also be observed at certain times of the year.
December to February is the peak season in New Zealand; however, there is no "right" time to visit this country, because it is simply magnificent. If you want to see lupins in New Zealand, you have to wait for a small window of opportunity. Lupins may bloom from September to February, but the peak flowering season only lasts from November to mid-January. June and July is the time of the orcas and from December to March there are humpback whales to be spotted in Kaikōura.
