Panama

Located in the heart of Central America, Panama offers a fascinating combination of modern cities and tropical wilderness. Nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea are dense rainforests, beautiful beaches and impressive buildings. The capital, Panama City, in particular showcases the contrast between tradition and progress: glittering skyscrapers stand alongside the charming old town of Casco Viejo, and the world-famous Panama Canal is an absolute highlight.

The climate is warm and humid all year round, with a typically tropical feel. The dry season usually lasts from December to April, which is considered the best time to explore the cities, beaches, and nature parks. During these months, there is significantly less rain, creating ideal conditions for outdoor activities.

In Panama, both the balboa (PAB) and the US dollar (USD) are used as currency, and both are in circulation and equivalent in value. Credit cards such as Visa or Mastercard are generally accepted in hotels, restaurants, and larger shops. Cash can easily be obtained from the widespread ATMs in cities.
