Canada

Canada is a country full of natural wonders and cultural diversity. Would you like to take in breathtaking landscapes, hike through seemingly endless forests and national parks, or stand in awe of the impressive Niagara Falls? Or would you prefer to experience the vibrant atmosphere of big cities such as Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal, and sample traditional Canadian dishes like pancakes with maple syrup, poutine and fresh salmon? If so, Canada is the destination for you! The country is also renowned for its welcoming people, its passion for ice hockey, and its spectacular attractions, such as the Rocky Mountains and Banff National Park.

Canada has something fascinating to offer all year round – every season has its own charm! In summer, the cities and national parks attract visitors with festivals, outdoor activities and long days. To experience the vibrant colours of the ‘Indian Summer’, travel between September and October when the forests glow red and orange. From December to March, winter sports enthusiasts flock to Whistler or the Rocky Mountains.

Banking in Canada is straightforward and modern. Cash machines (ATMs) are widely available, for example in banks, shopping centres and petrol stations. Common credit cards such as Visa and Mastercard are widely accepted, even in smaller shops. You may have less luck with an American Express card, but cashless payments are generally widespread and secure throughout the country.
