Banking in Canada is straightforward and modern. Cash machines (ATMs) are widely available, for example in banks, shopping centres and petrol stations. Common credit cards such as Visa and Mastercard are widely accepted, even in smaller shops. You may have less luck with an American Express card, but cashless payments are generally widespread and secure throughout the country.
