The most beautiful waterfalls – East Coast Australia

Australia is not only limited to its red sand – especially along the east coast, huge masses of water plunge into the valleys. Our favourite waterfalls on the east coast can be found here.

Wallaman Falls

The largest waterfall in Australia is the Wallaman Falls in the Girringun National Park. It is 268 metres high and the basin below is about 20 metres deep.

Purling Brook Falls

The Purling Brook Waterfall is also called Dancing Waters and is located in south-east Queensland.

Twin Falls

The Twin Falls Circuit is located in Springbrook National Park. You can either start the tour at the Canyon Lookout or at the Tallanbana picnic area.

Millaa Millaa Falls

Millaa Millaa Falls is one of the most famous waterfalls in Queensland and is located in the same national park as Ellinjaa Falls. With the palm trees in front of it, it looks like paradise.

Moran Falls

Moran Falls is located in South-East Queensland as well, more precisely in Lamington National Park. You can walk around and look at the top of the waterfall – the path is about 4.5 kilometres long.

Dangar Falls

The Dangar Falls were our first in Australia and therefore something special for us. Especially at the foot of the waterfall you can find tourists who are looking for a cooling on warm days.

Natural Bridge

The Natural Bridge is something quite extraordinary. It is not a common waterfall because it flows into a cave. You can find it in the south-west of the Gold Coast, Queensland.

Josephine Falls

The Josephine Falls are a famous tourist attraction because they are known for their “slides”. Not only can you swim at the waterfall, which is located in the Wooroonoora National Park in Cairns, but you can also slide down the naturally formed rocks. However, caution is advised as there have been several fatalities as a result, especially during the wet season.

Minyon Falls

The Minyon Falls are about 100 meters high and are located in northern New South Wales, in the Nightcap National Park near Byron Bay. A path of about 4.5 kilometers leads to the foot of the waterfall.

Jourama Falls

The Jourama Falls are located in the Paluma Range National Park in Queensland. The path to the waterfall leads through a rainforest up to the multi-level Jourama Falls. A little refreshment after the long hike can be found in the Rock Pools.

Wallicher Falls & Tchupala Falls

Wallicher Falls is located at the southern end of Wooroonooran National Park. If you start at Henrietta Creek Campground, there is a hiking trail 2.5 kilometres to Wallicher Falls. Just over 1 kilometre further on is Tchupala Falls. However, there is also a shorter trail that starts directly at the Palmerston Highway. Tchupala Falls can be reached after 500 metres, Wallicher Falls after 1 kilometre.
