The lake owes its distinctive emerald green colour to the mineral-rich rocks surrounding it. Long ago, there is said to have been a sunken city beneath the surface of the lake. Once, an unfortunate miner is said to have stolen an enchanted ring from the lake. This theft triggered a curse that caused the whole town to sink into the depths of the lake. On clear nights, the bells of the sunken church are said to rise from the depths of the lake.
