With its ancient ruins, breathtaking buildings and rich culture, the Italian capital attracts millions of visitors every year. Amidst this fascinating backdrop, we spent a long weekend exploring the vibrant city and soaking up its unique atmosphere.  <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-883260d e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"883260d\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c92f143 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"c92f143\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Day 1: Arrival and first explorations<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-37fd0e4 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"37fd0e4\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Finally in Rome, our exciting journey through this fascinating city begins. We begin our adventure by passing the Castel Sant&#8217;Angelo, whose imposing presence will leave you spellbound. Our route takes us to the picturesque Piazza Navona, where we enjoy our first Italian ice-cream and take in the colourful hustle and bustle. Them, we take a short detour to Piazza del Popolo to enjoy the impressive view. We walk further and the Pantheon rises majestically before us and although we only see it from the outside, we are overwhelmed by its impressive architecture. The famous Trevi Fountain is crowded, but we decide to return early one morning to experience its true magic. Our day ends with a delicious dinner at the Osteria da Fortunata, where we can admire the art of pasta making.      <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div Trastevere<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-18780fa elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"18780fa\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>In the morning we head to Vatican City State to explore the imposing St Peter&#8217;s Basilica. Despite a light drizzle, the cathedral shines in all its glory and leaves us speechless. We then visit the fascinating Vatican Museums, where we can take a journey through art history and admire breathtaking masterpieces. After so much culture, we head to the charming Trastevere district for a stroll through the narrow streets and a delicious meal at Trapizzino restaurant. We spend the evening with another delicious dinner at Tonnarello and a romantic walk around the illuminated Castel Sant&#8217;Angelo.    <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div our way to the Trevi Fountain again. This time it is quieter and we can admire the beauty of the fountain at our leisure. We decide to have a delicious breakfast of pistachio croissants at L&#8217;Antico Forno next to the fountain and enjoy the moment to the full. Strengthened, we make our way to the Spanish Steps. We then climb the Monumento Nazionale a Vittorio Emanuele II for a spectacular view of Rome. Finally, we fulfil a long-held dream and visit the Colosseum, which impresses with its history and breathtaking size. We also take a look at the Forum Romanum, which gives us an insight into ancient Roman life. cosy caf\u00e9, we make our way to the Pantheon, another impressive sight in Rome. We admire its magnificent dome and take time to soak up the unique atmosphere. Before we say goodbye to Rome, we enjoy a last lunch of pizza and pasta to taste the Italian cuisine once again. And of course, one last ice cream to end our trip on a sweet note.
