Originally built in the 14th century, it was extended and renovated in the 16th century during the reign of the Saadian Sultan Abdallah al-Ghalib. This medersa, or Islamic school, once served as accommodation for students and scholars studying in the neighbouring mosques.  <\/p>\n<p>During a visit, you can see the historic classrooms where students once studied the Qur&#8217;an and Islamic sciences.
